Relieve Stress & Restore Balance in Your Life With Respite Care

Caring for an elderly parent or loved one is a role many enjoy fulfilling. However, caring for a loved one can be overwhelming and potentially lead to physical and emotional stress. At Trusted Hearts, we understand that you may need a break from time to time to run errands, read a book, or simply, rest. Our respite care services provide a safe, caring solution and temporary relief for primary caregivers. It’s a “win-win” situation. It’s ok to take a break, relieve some stress, renew your energy, and restore some sense of balance to your life. And what better place for your loved one to receive care than the comfort and safety of their home. Whether it’s supervising inside the home, accompanying your loved one on an outing or assisting with personal hygiene, our caregivers will engage with your loved one and share the responsibility of caring for them. Our home respite care solution can be arranged for a single afternoon or regularly scheduled intervals. Did you know that experts say the anticipation of regularly scheduled respite can be an emotional lifesaver?

Respite care is usually paid for by the family receiving care (private pay); however, in the state of Maryland, you may find financial assistance through the Maryland Department of Human Resources (DHR) Office of Adult Services. Extended Home Respite Care

There are times when a “short break” for relaxation may not be enough. And you may need a short vacation to refresh and replenish. Or maybe you may need to travel for business. Trusted Hearts also provides extended respite care which allows your loved one to stay in your home instead of having to orient themselves to an unfamiliar environment like a short-term nursing home. Just knowing that your loved one is in a safe, comfy place can give you peace of mind, increase your ability to re-energize and enjoy your time away, guilt-free. Extended respite care may last for seven days or more. It may consist of companionship or personal care assistance depending on the level of care needed.
